Description

RIEGGER tabula dressing tools are an ingenious synthesis of single grain dressing diamond and multigrain diamond dresser.

Due to the shape of their dressing blade and proper selection of the diamond impregnation, tabula dressing tools are suitable for virtually all dressing operations. tabula dressing tools fulfill even the highest demands for dressing results.

The "Premium" versions of tabula dressing tools fulfill exacting demands for a repeatable grinding wheel topography and size constancy through a special conception of diamond impregnation and manufacturing technology.

The diamond impregnation, which optionally consists of diamond nibs or diamond grains, is mounted in a sintered metal plate and positioned so that it is centered on the swiveling holder or mount. A tabula dressing tool can thus be used for dressing traverse speed in either direction.

The dressing blade is mounted:
a) rigidly soldered into the mount
b) in the TSH swiveling holder


Process criteria

RIEGGER tabula diamond dressing tools are aligned for application at a 90-degree angle to the grinding wheel axis. They act in the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel being dressed similarly to a large number of overlapping single grain dressing diamonds.

The diamonds are arranged in special impregnation patterns resulting in a relatively unchanged effective width over the entire useful length of the tool. Due to the specific effective surface roughness thus generated on the contact surface of the grinding wheel, a relatively constant machining result is achieved by altering the dressing traverse speed.

The required dimensional constant is attained by allocating the number of diamonds in the contact length corresponding to the grinding wheel volume to be dressed.


Range of application

Single-profile dressing of straight grinding wheels and profile dressing with a high requirement for reproducible grinding results.

External cylindrical and centerless grinding:
- Batch and line production
- All grinding wheel dimensions
- All grinding wheel specifications

Not recommended for:
- Dressing internal grinding tools with small dimensions
- Ancillary dressing tasks


Application tips
There must be a perfect fit between the holder of the diamond dressing tool and the dressing device. Otherwise dimensionally stable dressing with a true profile is not possible.
Cooling improves the dressing results considerably and is mandatory for exacting dressing requirements. A strong and continuous flow of cooling medium must be fed to the contact zone prior to the beginning of the dressing process.
Dressing is performed at a normal or reduced grinding wheel speed.
Infeed increments of up to 0.03 mm per dressing operation are possible.
